Happy Monday!  Today I wanted to share one of my new favorite ideas- Chic Sketch! Chic Sketch is a live fashion illustration service and a new & innovative way to turn your wedding photos and guests into custom fashion sketches.

– Live event sketches at Weddings, Bridal Showers, and Engagement Parties

– Wedding Chic Sketch Kiosk with real fashion illustrators. It’s like a photo booth but better, because we sketch you and your guests!

– Pre Wedding and Post Wedding Sketches- On this note, I think having sketches of each of your bridesmaids done to ask them to be a bridesmaid would be such a sweet and personal idea.  And, using your sketch on to make custom notecards with your new married name after the wedding would be so great!

-They are also starting to make great gift items like cell phone covers and picture frames, which would also be a fabulous engagement gift for any friends getting married, hostess gift around the holidays, or wedding party gifts.

lake-logo-new

Let me tell you about my new favorite loungewear/pajamas that I’m loving right now!

Green:Blue stripe

Lake pajamas are my new “must have”. Made from super soft pima cotton, I love how they are tailored for a more flattering fit vs. traditional baggy pj’s. If you work from home, have a new baby, or are traveling anytime soon, do yourself a favor and get some here.

I have the version above in the marine blue stripe and they were so perfect for my recent trip to the One and Only Palmilla in Mexico for site visits.

gift-closet

Getting organized for the new year takes some serious effort and dedication, and after the holidays the gift closet was one of the biggest spaces to take a hit. The photo above is from Southern Living, and sadly not from my own gift closet, but it’s important to note that a gift closet is something that can make your life so much easier if kept properly. I’ve been working on cleaning mine out a bit and have come up with a list of my favorite things to help you start or re-stock your own.

scissors-and-ribbon

For starters, it’s very important to have good ribbon and scissors for wrapping your gifts. We love this velvet ribbon from M&J Trimming, and these beautiful brass scissors from The Apartment by The Line.

surcie-tags

And as you’re wrapping, you can’t go wrong with lovely letterpress “Surcie” tags by Lettered Olive. They give a subtle message and make your gift look polished and well thought out.

rewined-candles-2

I love giving local gifts, and Charleston-made Rewined Candles are always a hit. Made from recycled wine bottles with scents like “Champange” and “Pinot Noir,” they feel festive and are good for the environment.

wine

Speaking of wine, a nice bottle of your favorite vintage is always appreciated. I keep extra bottles of my favorites in the gift closet so I can easily grab them for a dinner party, and to complete the gift, I wrap them in our Lettered Olive wine bags and include a stainless steel vacuum wine stopper for keeping the bottle fresh. Better than a brown paper bag by far!
