What a fun night celebrating our returning clients! We have done a wedding, and several other special occasion parties, and they are some of our favorite collaborators. For this party, we were celebrating a 40th and 70th birthday, AND a 15th and 45th wedding anniversary. Since we were honoring all of the members of the family, we wanted to incorporate pieces of all of their interests throughout the details. Being big University of South Carolina alums, the party started with the mascot, Cocky greeting as guests arrive.
Also, and exciting element was that this was the first big event held at the newly rennovated, 21 Magazine. Since this building once housed the City Jail for Charleston, SC, and because of the line of work our client is in, we played a bit on that theme.
The Mother and daughter alike enjoy champagne, and what better way to celebrate than with champagne? So, let’s take the former caretaker’s shed and turn it into a champagne hut!
For those who prefer cocktails, we set up one of our signature bars in what was once the carriage house. Here, the front of the bar is covered in fabric we had printed from one of the mother’s paintings.
We always want fun details, and take the chance everywhere we can. Here, the drinks include Ann E’s favorite Margarita made by her favorite bartender in Telluride, CO. Also, drink stirrers have head adornments of one of the anniversary couples.
Our “bride” wore a party dress from the dress shop (Maddison Row South/Bella Bridesmaid) she co-owns with her mother. Dress is by Sareh Nouri.
So many fun and guests we know came out to celebrate this family. Including, our former planner, Meg!
Food is by Cru Catering. Cocktail hour has several passed items on trays with custom tray liners, of course. And, a large custom ice sculpture for the seafood station. Inside, one of the dinner stations included a living lettuce wall… Isn’t it so lovely?
One of our other special guests for our “Jailhouse Rocks” celebration, was of course, Elvis! One of the birthday honorees loves Elvis, so we had to give him a little surprise.
For this avid golfing family, we had a little putting area set up. Even Cocky couldn’t miss!
For the Shag band tent, a favorite of the mother’s, we again had fabric printed with scenes from her artwork. She is an avid and talented painter, so this was definitely a statement moment, since it can’t be replicated.
The happy couple shagging under the stars for 45 years!
Inside, guests could grab a sweet treat from our dessert room. Here, a wedding cake with tiers replicated from the original wedding cakes is topped with celebratory elements. Also, our tiered display features cupcakes in all of their favorite flavors and topped with details from each of their interests like horses, USC, and the scales of justice.
The birthday boy is a big sweets fan. So, a candy bar with all of his favorites, along with a sundae bar is the perfect way to honor him. Oh, and stickers for the candy bags featuring an Elvis painting of him were another fun surprise detail!
Guests party the night away to our favorite party band, Simply Irresistible. Party shoes are on, and the Elvis glasses are out and about!
