Ode to Blue

Is it just us, or is blue the prettiest? We would say that blue is still one of our biggest requests for a color palette at our events. And, every time we are happy to oblige. Blue can be “bridal” as in “something blue” and of course masculine enough to use at events like a rehearsal dinner (above).

Paper is always a pretty place for shades of blue. Darker blues like navy can be a modern alternative to traditional black. And, blue paper is always lovely for those who are looking for something different and that will get noticed by your guests. Lettered Olive created these sweet floral save the dates.

Of course, blue is also a presence in wedding fashion. From shoes to dresses, it’s a nice way to bring in a bride’s “something blue”.

Blue also gets lots of attention when we use in our decor. Here, a bar is covered in blue toile fabric, and bringing in the blue and white ginger jar lamps and vases pulls it all together.

Another place where we love blue and white is in the tabletop details. So many pretty china and glassware options for a low key pop of color or pattern.

And, you may not expect it, but blue is so pretty in the cake designs. Jim Smeal cake, of course.

Tent designs are also a great place to showcase blue. It photographs so well. Here a navy stripe awning for a tent entrance offers a custom welcome.

What do you think, have we convinced you of our love for blue? What are you favorite wedding color palettes?
