Sometimes, I Wish…

That I could buy everything in the Anthropologie catalog when it ever so delicately lands in my mailbox. But, what I really loved in the new one was all of the styling and art design.

Great play on the silhouette trend; reminds me of making paper dolls when I was a child.

Went to the State Fair recently and forgot about the Fun House… not to mention this coat is gorgeous!

Love how they dispursed children in costume along with vintage toys.

Music to My Ears

We all know that without a great band or entertainment (as well as great booze) your event will become as exciting as watching paint peel. We’re lucky to work with some of the most talented musicians in the biz!

A New York Minute

Tara and Kate were in our New York office last week. We arrived on Sunday evening, and all of the runners were still pumped up from that morning’s New York City Marathon. It’s also definitely fall up there, which we have yet to experience in Charleston – it was 80 degrees the day we left for the city! We met with clients in Greenwich, CT, and the trees on the ride out and throughout the town were truly artwork in themselves, colors that we miss out on here!

We ate dinner one night at Marea. We loved the light up Marble wall – Tara did something similar in her house years ago with a marble island/cabinet down the center of her galley kitchen with a marble top lit from below. The burled wood walls mimicked the pattern and were so rich and elegant.

The best part of the meal was our yummy dessert: Zucchini torte with lemon crema frozen yogurt. It has me inspired to try and replicate for the Thanksgiving holidays.

Tara’s Tidbits

I was thrilled to meet my new bud, Marcy Blum (owner of Marcy Blum events and author of Wedding Planning for Dummies) at the Engage 09 summit in the Grand Caymans. Clients of Marcy’s have included Billy Joel, Donny Deutsche, and Padma Lakshmi. She is truly fabulous and insightful, and brought us the BEST bagels from her favorite spot to bring home..You can follow her on Twitter here.
