Our bride for next June was recently in town visiting for a big meeting, and I caught a glimpse of her license plate- HOW CUTE! her new last name will be Capozzoli, and everyone calls him Capi.
Straight From the Vineyard
Well, we are finally back from our excursion up to Martha’s Vineyard where we did a fabulous home grown wedding for our clients on their family farm. It was a lovely (but hot) afternoon with sheep grazing in the meadow and the ceremony on a bluff overlooking the ocean.
We had a sweet white passenger van that we drove the entire staff around in all week-we pretty much looked like a girl/boy scout troup, but it was great for delivering guest bags and hauling things to and from…
this is the barn that the father had disassembled and brought down from canada, it’s over 300 years old, the woodwork on the interior is amazing
they have a quintessential new england stone wall that borders the property, which inspired many of her printed items- save the dates, invitations, and the ceremony programs
up this rode was where the ceremony overlook… the boulders you see there were from a glacier that broke up and settled to form the island of Martha’s Vinyeard thousands of years ago
love the crew at Big Sky Rentals… unloading our dinner tables and chairs into the barn
there are so many great local flower farms and stands that have buckets of bouquets for sale just on the side of the road. we really wanted to incorporate as many local flowers as possible, so stumbled upon this farm one day and picked up some items
this local thistle, queen anne’s lace, scabiosa, and whatever that amazing purple flower is was all used in the bride and bridesmaids’ bouquets
here is the crew the night before the wedding assembling all of the little details we love oh so much- birdseed packets to toss at the bride and groom for the departure, local saltwater taffy with cute tags, and flags that went into the cheese varieties on the cheese plate served as a dinner course…
what a small world, on the 6am Sunday ferry to leave the island, this was on the car in front of us…
seeing the sunrise from the deck of the ferry almost made the 2 hours of sleep and early ferry trip worth it
we got to Boston about 8 hours before our flight was set to depart, so we found a local farmers/flea market that happened to be open early.. LOVE their design, and I got a pair of fabulous vintage lamps that Sam helped me pick out, along with an original vintage Lily Pulitzer dress, called “The Lily”
weary from our trip and a yummy lunch, this shop on Newbury street was right next door… if you look at the sign, I figured a guilty pleasure after lunch would be the perfect pick me up… um, this store does not sell cupcakes, let’s just say that.
this has to be one of the funniest signs i’ve ever seen in my life… there are too many good things about it. just wanted to share.
