Well, we are just back from a very quick jaunt to New York for Market… there were some treasures and not so much. Didn’t see a ton of new stuff, but here’s a sampling of just a few of our faves. Oh, we only made it to the Pier too, so there could have been some treasures at the Javits that we just didn’t see.
this one of a kind light from Robert Ogden/Peddlers is amahhhzing… wish I had a spot for it, the photo does no justice… the mirrored inside over a dining room table lit with candles would be a statement piece for sure
I just adore these vintage alphabet flash cards… Tara and I were brainstorming all sorts of ways to incorporate them into a wedding design
very festive but still sophisitcated pillows- the linen they were made from was so incredibly soft
I love the eerie starkness of this light, but could also see several of them hung under a large portico
You start to see a similar design element through many of the booths as you wander. Last year it was Angel Wings (some w/ a hard edge, some still celestial), but this year it was old book or newpaper pages, torn and then reformed into new shapes. Very cool, and could definitely inspire some creative wedding ideas- do a sense a new version of the “paper” flowers and designs that we’ve been seeing the past few years?
Ceci Style
What a great example of design collaboration. Our bride, Carter Samis used Ceci New York to design her wedding invitations for her November 2009 wedding. Ceci’s new online magazine, Ceci Style is featuring a story on how the printed items can influence all different elements of the wedding design and vice versa as well as a Q&A with Tara Guerard.
