Hey y’all! I recently did an interview and spoke about lucky wedding traditions…there are so many old sayings and superstitions that have been around for ages! “Something old, something new…” I’m not going to finish it because you know how it goes! Whether it’s a sixpence in the shoe or cutting the wedding cake, these traditions are still widely followed. Who doesn’t want a little luck on their wedding day? Since it is “Wedding Wednesday,” I thought I would share a wedding we did a while back. The date was July 7, 2007. With a date like 7/7/07 you know it has to be lucky! It didn’t even phase this couple when a few raindrops came to the reception. We just figured it was adding to the good fortune! Our friend Adrienne Page was there to snap all the lovely photos…I hope you enjoy them!
Brookgreen Gardens was the site for this outdoor ceremony
We hung simple pots of hydrangeas from the arch
Umbrellas became a unexpected theme at this wedding! Here we used them over tables for the cocktail hour
Guests signed vintage postcards to the bride and groom in lieu of a guest book
Light blue and green fabric lined the tent
A golf cart get-away
I really adore the vintage post cards idea. Very neat!
