As you may or may not know, we are big fans of the Lowcountry Local First movement here in Charleston! If you are unfamiliar with them, their idea is twofold. First they advocate buying local from independent businesses and farmers. Then they promote eating local as well. This initiative designed to grow and support local food systems by connecting local farms, producers, and apprentices to the local restaurants, institutions, and people with a hunger for farm fresh food and goods.

Super cause, right?

They have several events throughout the year but this Sunday is their 5th annual “Cooking With Gas” Potluck Supper at Middleton Plantation. Tons of fabulous restaurants are participating and the chef list is pretty impressive. (Shameless plug that my husband is also participating). If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, we highly suggest!! What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
