Even though it feels as if we worked around the clock literally for our wedding in Aspen, Colorado a few weeks ago, we did manage to squeeze in some time to experience our surroundings. Here are our picks for what to do when you’re in Aspen.
Stay at the Jerome Hotel, An Auberge Hotel. Designed by TAL Studios, I absolutely love it, especially the Library Bar.
The J Bar at the Jerome is a killer hang out spot, and they have a dessert called the Warm Skillet Cookie that you is beyond amazing!
Where to Eat:
White House Tavern– Relaxed, casual spot! Spinach and artichoke dip is unmatched! The burger is so big and super delicious! House-made bun puts it over the top. Check out their “exhibition kitchen” from the side walk outside the restaurant. They covered one whole wall of the kitchen with glass so that passers by can watch the food being prepped.
The Grey Lady– We recommend the Tuna Tartar, Fish Tacos, Meze Platter, Fish Sandwich and finish it off with the Lemon Crème Brûlée. They also have some craft cocktails on tap.
Grey Lady history: A little more than three years ago, the original Grey Lady opened in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, serving up Nantucket inspired fare with a nautical ambience, the local haunt has quickly gained a fantastic reputation for both nightlight and fine dining. This fall the Grey Lady team decided that Aspen was the perfect location for an outpost in the West. In seeking to further their reputation for exceptional food Grey Lady enlisted Kathleen Crook to take the helm in the kitchen. The attention to detail from the specialty cocktails to their lobster roll to the décor creates an experience that is sure to bring you back for more.
