Well, it’s official. Spring will be coming early this year… And, I say that as it is 70 degrees in February here in Charleston. So, for this Wedding Wednesday, I’m pulling this sweet little Spring fling out of the vault to get us all cheery and ready for beautiful days ahead!

This bouquet was a knock out, one of my faves… the chamomile, lily of the valley, lisianthus, and white poppies made for a right out of the garden look.

Letterpressed invitations from Lettered Olive included a jute belly wrap, patterened envelope liner,  and hand calligraphied tags in lieu of inner envelopes.

Guests were greeted at cocktail hour with sweet tea vodka martinis. We had printed little drink flags with the couples’ name printed to adorn the simple glasses for a little added detail.

Guests used classic Polaroid cameras to take candid shots and leave handwritten notes to the couple. This would be an easy, affordable, and memorable “station” anyone could set up for any kind of event!

We always find ourselves using common goods in uncommon ways. Bulk yellow millet (corn meal) was used to give color to trays holding the seating cards, and filled the glass cylinders holding candles which also helped hold them steady.

Burlap topped linens graced the dining tables and the burlap wrapped menu cards complete the earthy elegant look to the dinner.

This deconstructed cake display really worked with the simplicity the bride wanted to portray on her wedding day. Shaved coconut is still such a classic look for a wedding cake – we started seeing it’s popularity in the 60’s and it still holds relevancy today!

After dinner overlooking the marsh, guests made their way to the lounge where they could witness the spectacular sunset on the creek at Kiawah Island and enjoy the rest of the evening.
