In the South we are of course known for being gracious and welcoming and at our weddings, we try to make service and making guests feel welcome one of our top priority. Since we always focus so much on the inside of our tents, I really wanted to start making the outside look just as welcoming.

For our dining room tent at a wedding at the bride’s home, we laid a hardwood boardwalk, easy for ladies in high heels. A few Italian cypress planters and a simple greenery swag jazz up the entrance without anything too elaborate. This would be an easy idea to replicate for your own wedding- check into local plant rental sources- they often deliver and set up for you for little expense.

In a sea of white tents, I thought a blue “foyer” tent would make a big impact. We had our rental company set up the framing, and Boutique Tents made custom draping and valances for it.

I’m loving our awnings we started doing several years ago…Add a custom carpet runner and this becomes a stunning first glimpse for guests.

The scenery surrounding this Aspen wedding was so lovely that some simple candle lanterns leading into the tent stayed pretty well into the night.
