Happy Monday y’all! We are very excited to begin sharing with you our latest new adventure! Recently we began working on an interior design project. Finding so many similarities in event design, decor and spacial relation, it is a natural progression to also be asked by clients to design their home interiors! This client is no exception. His downtown apartment is located inside a grand old home…it just needs a lot of TLC!  Pulling from it’s historic charm while still wanting to create an environment a bachelor would love, we are mixing and melding many different styles. While we are still in the beginning stages, things are moving quite fast! We thought it would be fun to take you through the process in pictures. Here are a few deep in the thick of reno…stay tuned for more news and pictures as we continue the design!

A recent New York Times article gave the ins and outs of the right wear to tailor a tux. With a large photo of the oh-so-good looking Jake Gyllenhaal on the front of the Style Section, we instantly took notice.

After reading the article, we think any guy would be wise to brush up on these tips before walking the red carpet or, or down the aisle for that matter!

Tip #1: Shoulder fit is crucial

Tip #2: Put on a bowtie and be sure to know how to tie your own knot

Tip #3: Take a good measurement of your neck

Tip #4: In a Standard two-button suit, the break should be at your belly button

Tip #5: Shirts feel better with a taper

Tip #6: The half inch rule on the cuff is a must

Tip #7: Pant legs should have a modest break on the toe

Tip #8: No cuff on tuxedo trousers

Tip #9: Avoid lots of detail on the shoes

Tip #10: A simple steel watch with black leather strap is best

Mary Norton is a local celeb here in Charleston. On top of all that, she is one of the most genuine people we have ever met! If you haven’t met her, you should know that in 1998, after having a dream that inspired her, Mary decided to design a handbag. After designing a few, they gained swift popularity. Fast forward a few years and her company, MOOROO, is designing bags, scarves and pins for locals as well as celebrities!  Later creating a new line called simply “Mary Norton“, Mary’s career has unfolded into a brand all her own. And we couldn’t be more happy for her!

What does this have to do with weddings you may ask? I will tell you! Mary recently decided to lend her talents to designing custom hair pieces and head bands for the world of bridal. She brought some samples by our office to see and the are just so pretty. With intricate beading, needle work and attention to details, these gems would make any bride want to lose the veil and go with these instead! However, we could also see them as a great switch over into the reception when a bride wants to take the veil off. Here are a few pictures I snapped just to share with you! Be sure to check out their website to see all the many things Mary is up to at the moment!
