Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day…a day for love! Every year people load up on cards, perfume, champagne and trinkets for their honeys. More than any other holiday, however, I think V-day sneaks up on you the fastest. Maybe it’s because we are still winding down from the holidays and new years? Whatever the reason, if you are still lacking a gift, I will make your life easier and tell you what we love here in our office…SWEETS!

Now, I’m not talking about the heart shaped box of miscellaneous mystery chocolate. Nothing says “I forgot what today was” like the cherry cordials from the discount rack at Rite-Aid. (And the random card from their already picked over selection). I’m talking about really good, yummy sweet treats. And lucky you, there are so many good places here in Charleston to pick up something delicious! Here are a few spots I suggest you go if you need to surprise someone special in your life. You are sure to impress with something from these places!

Sugar Bakeshop

59 1/2 Cannon St.

We’ve already blogged on Sugar’s carmel cupcakes in the past. And they are worth mentioning here again! They also make them in mini cupcakes if that seems a bit friendlier to you. Added bonus is their completely adorable packaging that really looks like a present!

Wildflower Pastry

73 Spring St.

If your honey likes cookies, this is the spot to get them. They are giants and so delicious!

Robot Candy Company

322 King St.

This is a good spot if the love in your life has a fun, childish side! Retro candies and games line the shelves. You’re sure to find something with a pop of color in any flavor!

Sweeteeth Chocolate

4845 Chatau Ave.

North Charleston

We can’t get enough of their salted caramel chocolate bars. They. Are. That. Good. These locals just set up the first store front in North Charleston so you should definitely give them some face time. Your Valentine with be so thankful!!

Whether you are treating someone or yourself this V-day, be sure to shop local and support Charleston!

Frank and Lane have been getting a lot of love lately! First Nate Berkus featured them on his show, and now they get a sweet little write up in the latest issue of Charleston Weddings Magazine! The spring issue hit newsstands recently with a quick snippet on the chairs that Tara designed. Check it out!

Ahh, the New York International Gift Show. If you have never experienced a gift show, it can be quite overwhelming!! Miles of beautiful goodies lined up for the looking, and more importantly, the buying! Recently Tara, Kate and I traveled to NYC to peruse the show and shop for our lovely 2012 brides-to-be. Each of our brides next year have such different taste that it was fun to see what new things might be a good fit for each of them. I took some pics along the way so you could see what we shopped for! What do you think of these?

Some of our brides this year are loving bold colors…which totally excites us! These amazing pillows would really punch up our white sofas!

We’ve used this company before for Martha’s Vineyard guest bags, but loved their new size for brides looking to do a smaller bag!

Tara loved the vintage feel to this velvet ribbon. Any would look beautiful tied to a bouquet. With so many different colors you could find one to match any bride’s look!

These pendant lights look like they’ve been weathered with time. Wouldn’t they look fab hanging over a bar?

Kate liked these plates, bowls, and cups as a unique presentation instead of boring banquet china

So maybe not for a traditional wedding, but we have a slight office obsession with antlers. How cool??

These candlesticks would be good for a bride with modern taste!
