Hey y’all! I recently did an interview and spoke about lucky wedding traditions…there are so many old sayings and superstitions that have been around for ages! “Something old, something new…” I’m not going to finish it because you know how it goes! Whether it’s a sixpence in the shoe or cutting the wedding cake, these traditions are still widely followed. Who doesn’t want a little luck on their wedding day? Since it is “Wedding Wednesday,” I thought I would share a wedding we did a while back. The date was July 7, 2007. With a date like 7/7/07 you know it has to be lucky! It didn’t even phase this couple when a few raindrops came to the reception. We just figured it was adding to the good fortune! Our friend Adrienne Page was there to snap all the lovely photos…I hope you enjoy them!

Umbrellas became a unexpected theme at this wedding! Here we used them over tables for the cocktail hour

So I’ve been doing weddings for over 15 years now and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know and stay in touch with such wonderful couples. One thing I love almost as much as hearing the engagement news is hearing one of our fabulous couples has welcomed a new addition into their family. How does the old saying go, “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby carriage?” Well, I was thrilled to be informed that our friends Elizabeth and Jimbo are pushing a carriage for a beautiful baby girl, Ella. To celebrate, I thought I would share some images from their Sea Island wedding in 2005. The setting was almost as stunning as the gorgeous bride! Best wishes to you both on becoming new parents!

Having a little pad in the mountains of NC was the gift of my in-laws.  (How nice is that?) Their family has been coming to this tiny town during the summer for over 200 years (to beat the heat, of course!) And for the last 5 years we have been lucky enough to enjoy a few treasured getaway weekends and a couple of weeks in the summer. I Wont lie…I am spoiled!

It is hard for me to relax- I am a worker bee! I constantly have outings and one of my favorites while here in historic Flat Rock, is visiting the Curb Market. It is only open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, and is home to Hendersonville County’s most green thumb gardeners and farmers. So needless to say, I do a lot of eating on vacation! Especially this year…being eight months pregnant is the BEST excuse ever to over indulge! These are pictures of the beautiful produce available here locally.

The speckled butter beans are gorgeous!

My boys have practically lived off of peaches this entire summer!

Check out the colors!
