Anne Pope was our ambassador to the Southern C Summit, held recently in Nashville .  She had a ball networking with the many talented and creative fellow speakers and attendees! Here’s a quick snapshot of her favorite takeaways:

Author, food stylist and blogger extraordinaire, Libbie Summers’s blog saltedandstyled.com is a new must-read. Loved meeting Libbie and artist Katherine Sandoz.  Also enjoyed Jamie Meares of the uber-chic I Suwanee blog and Furbish Studio in Raleigh, and Rowanne McKnight of Nashville-based Style Blueprint.  There were SO many great folks – it’s impossible to name them all!

Grey Ghost Cookies should be on everyone’s holiday shopping list.   (Cinnamon Pecan is especially awesome!!)

Carrie Bailey Morey was serving up her signature biscuits out of “Beatrice” her RV.  Carrie’s new book, Callie’s Biscuits and Southern Traditions, is in stores and she is taking the gospel of southern food on the road for a pre-holiday media tour.  Look for Carrie in your home town calliesbiscuits.com!

The lovely Susan Hull Walker of illoominata is launching her new clothing line, Ibu next week!  Her pop up shop opens the evening of Thursday, October 24th at 275 King Street in Charleston, and runs through Saturday, October 26th.  Susan’s designs are made in luxurious – sometimes one-of-a-kind – fabrics sourced from around the globe.  I encourage all of you local ladies to be sure and stop in Ibu next week.  You won’t be disappointed!

The Fall-Winter Charleston Weddings features the wedding we designed for Jeffrey and Jessica Zucker last year at Runnymeade Plantation on the Ashley River.  This amazing family inspires me on so many levels. We cannot believe that Jeffrey and Jessica are about to celebrate their one year anniversary!!

On another note, I especially love the photo of the ceremony overlooking the water as it showcases one of my all-time favorite chuppahs.  I worked with the talented David Singleton to create this special piece out of magnolia leaves and the look was striking.  This was the last job David helped us on – sadly, he passed away this past summer.  He was a bright spot in our event team – and in the Charleston community – and will be sorely missed by all who knew him!
