We were so honored to be a part of fabulous wedding photographer, Gayle Brooker’s big wedding day in May.  The wedding was so ethereal and lovely.  I can only share a few little fun shots from her rehearsal dinner which took place on the Friday eve of the wedding at local Folly River waterfront eatery, Bowens Island.

Artful Wedding

Tara is in one of my other favorite Southern towns, Richmond, Va today and tomorrow for a couple of appearances. After  the local morning show, she will head to the Virginia Musuem of Fine Arts for the sitxth annual Artful Wedding event.  Here is the interview in the recent Richmond Bride magazine where she shares her words of wisdom…

The View From Here

We just finished a big double header this weekend (rehearsal party and wedding), and I can’t wait to see the real shots from this one!  The young fun couple really let us play with patterns and the fresh mix of color was one of the most original we’ve had in a while… We mixed up the tent layout a bit at this one and placed it on a spot at Lowndes Grove Plantation where it has never been placed before, and it really payed off!  Here is the view right after sunset from their lounge..

We had a really fun time designing our events for our Gorham’s Bluff, Alabama wedding back in May.  We were involved in all of the wedding events, from the bridal luncheon, to the after rehearsal party, the wedding day brunch, and of course the big event!  We wanted all of the events to have some uniting factor that made it obvious to those guests that would be attending every event that they were related.

The wedding colors were a coraly pink, peach, and grey, so for the luncheon we made it super girly with a hot pinky coral and silver accents.

We still brought in the little details like embroidered napkins that took a small pattern from the wedding invites- a nice token fro the bride to have afterwards for her home.  The menus were all hand calligraphied…

Since the bride got embroidered napkins, we thought it would be fun to do embroidered cocktail napkins for each guest, which also double as their place card.

Ahhh, the things that we do for our clients.  Tara and I were in the kitchen personally hand spinning the cotton candy our bride just had to surprise her girls with!

At least we had fun doing it…we had to sample some of course before it went out…

Everyone loved their surprise treat… a perfect ending to a perfectly girlie lunch.

Proud Planners…

We are always so excited to hear about all of our couples successes- whether it’s career related or starting a lovely family together.  One our brides, Lee Boren, owns a hugely successful design store in Atlanta, Pieces, and has an awesome feature in the new LonnyMag. Be sure to check out her fab inventory and the magazine “piece” on her…

Tara’s Tidbits

Luckily, having our New York office gives me a chance to always be on the pulse of what’s new and fabulous… I found this little snippet in the new Town and Country and can’t wait to make an appointment to see their “all-white bridal” floor next time I’m up there…

Check back next week for more from Lee Boren’s Atlanta baby shower…

And to quote from a recent humble and kind mother of the groom- “Keep your mouth shut, your wallet open and wear beige”- Happy Mother’s Day to our MOG’s as well.

Making the Rounds…

We so thrilled about our upcoming spot in the May issue of Southern Living.  Be on the lookout for it on newsstands.  And currently on their website they feature the interiors of lamp designer Barbara Cosgrove, take a peek!

Tara’s Tidbits

Coming home from Atlanta yesterday, I was actually glad for a moment to be stuck at the airport for once.  I found One Flew South, a sushi restaurant in Concourse E.  The sushi was amazing, and I loved the decor- they took photos of pine trees indigenous to the Georgia forests and screen printed them along the entire back wall!  Gave me lots of ideas for future projects!  If you are ever stuck in Atlanta, it’s worth the train hop over to the E Concourse.

I Want to go to There…
