We did this wedding for graphic designer Karly Depew back in 2005 and it’s still one of my favorites. Love all of the sweet details and the fall colors.  The weather shows you why people LOVE to get married in Charleston in October. We were blessed this past Saturday for our Thomas Bennett House wedding that was PERFECT. Can’t wait to share pics soon.

Tara’s Tidbits

As part of the swag bags from Engage 10! in Palm Beach, each speaker got a custom “sketch” of themselves printed on note cards from Momental Designs. What a great surprise, I love mine!

Where We’ve Been This Week…

We wanted to start a new section on our blog to talk about the great restaurants or hotels that we experience or any place that we feel is worth sharing.  While it’s been a slow week of going out and travel because we had a wedding to prepare for, we did meet one of clients for lunch at a local Charleston favorite, Monza.

Monza specializes in wood burning speciality pizzas and other Italian dishes using local and fresh ingredients. One of both Tara and my favorite items is the butter bean salad.  Tara gets hers with local shrimp, I get mine with Italian Tuna. The gist is a big bowl of perfectly cooked butter beans with lemon juice, parsley, and yummy olive oil, salt and pepper. The tuna is canned tuna, but it’s Italian canned tuna which means packed in high quality olive oil. If you’re in town give it a try. There is a hidden back patio that is perfectly divine and great for drinking Peronis all day.

We have returned from New York and our rehearsal dinner was a big success- it was a BBQ theme, so of course, they had to bring in the Southerners to throw a real shindig.  I hope to have photos for next week’s post.

In the meantime, here are some fun reads I’d like to share.  From this month’s InStyle:

I loved seeing the “inside files” from Kelly Wearstler- can’t get enough of her darn it, and shouldn’t we be past this by now?

vera-wang

Of course, being in the wedding biz you have to know all things Vera… But, I really appreciated her comment about what she thinks is the biggest change in fashion to date.  I have been watching “Boardwalk Empire” and was just lamenting last night about how beautiful and elegant the ladies were and the men with suits and bowties and boutonierres everyday. I wish we still had the desire to dress up on a daily basis.

Something For the Kiddies…

Check out this story we contributed to on Aisledash.com about children’s attire at weddings.

We’re excited about a new blog launch- Bump Smitten that features tips and stylish real baby showers.  They featured the baby shower for Baby K that we did for our past bride, Lee Kleinhelter.

Tara’s Tidbits

I recently came across this artists’ work as something I would love for my boys’ room.  I wanted to share his story and the piece…
