I had such a blast getting to know Eddie Ross this weekend at The Southern C summit. Down from Connecticut, I’m convinced he’s actually a Southerner at heart. We chatted about local antique stores that he shopped and the secret gardens of Charleston. We also bonded over the fact that his culinary and catering background lead him into his entertaining and design career. Eddie was an Associate Decorating Editor at House Beautiful and Senior Style Editor at Martha Stewart Living.  We can’t wait for our copy of his upcoming book (preorder here) “Eddie Ross Modern Mix”.  Get to know more about Eddie with our Tete-a-Tete and see some preview pics from the book.

My sweet sweet friend Matthew Robbins‘ work has been seen everywhere from Martha Stewart Weddings, theknot.com, and InStyle Weddings. He’s a blogger (for Martha Stewart Weddings, Huffington Post and StyleList), author, and lecturer… And, he is truly the nicest guy!!! Here he tete-a-tete’s with us and shares some pretty.

Favorite drink before noon?
My favorite drink before noon is an Italian Margarita. Aperol based. They serve the perfect version of this at Scarpetta in NYC.
Favorite drink at 6pm?
My favorite drink at 6 pm is a perfect Gin and Tonic. For the gin I adore Gin Mare with my favorite tonic water by Fever Tree. They blend magically.
Wine: red, white or champagne?
Red for Fall and Winter, White for Warm Climates Spring and Summer. I enjoy a great glass of bubbly with friends before dinner or to celebrate.
Hors d’ouerve that is always in the cabinet or fridge?
Always marinated olive, hummus and my favorite Goat Gouda Cheese.
Music go to when friends are over…. i.e. Pandora station?
I love the WAVES station on Pandora…perfect blend of ambient/hipster/sexy/cool
Where would you like to go on vacation?
I am a fan of St. Barths during slow season but nothing like a tropical paradise to re-connect with my soul. I recently spent time in Cartagena for New Year’s Eve and it was spectacular. I’m dying for a trip to Istanbul.
Favorite flower?
Sweet Pea is my favorite. I can’t get enough. They are pretty, effortless, delicately fragrant and classic. A bouquet of white sweet peas is perfection!
Dream guest to have over for dinner?
Dolly Parton is definitely a dream guest but my favorite dinner guest is with my sweetheart.
Favorite restaurant?
Blue Hill Stone Barns
And favorite thing to eat at this restaurant?
Everything is heavenly but the whole grain brioche they create is insanely delicious…especially with their exquisite butter!
