Wedding party

We’re celebrating Wedding Wednesday with this pastel beauty at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. We had a lot of fun working with these clients, the bride was in PR for a very well known jewelry brand, and the mother was an interior designer so we had a chance to incorporate lots of fun details. Thank you to Adrienne Page for the pretty pics!

Bridal Collage

Along with a monogramed ribbon, the bridal bouquet was adorned with the bride’s grandmother’s vintage broach. I’m obsessed with these Miu Miu shoes our bride wore too! Bride’s dress was by Monique Lhuillier.

Groom Collage

Lavendar blossoms were used as boutonierres and garnishes throughout the wedding. The bride gifted her groom cufflinks from the jeweler she worked for, which the wedding bands came from as well.

Invitations

Lettered Olive designed the lovely wedding papers.  Lace from the bride’s Monique Lhuillier dress inspired the letterpress pattern along with the die cut belly band.

Ceremony overview

Lavendar linen ottoman poufs provided seating for the ceremony overlooking the sea and lawn at the Ocean Course

Ceremony Collage

The floral arch framed the view for guests, while boxes full of lush florals lined the aisle to give the wide expanse more definition.

Cocktail hour Collage

Plaster sheep that usually reside on the lawn at the home of the parents of the bride, were brought over to greet guests coming into the wedding. Cocktail hour took place on the porch so guests could enjoy the views and the ocean breeze before heading inside for dinner.

seating assignments

Playing off of the jewelry theme, escort cards were attached to velvet jewelry boxes with the table numbers cards inside.

Dinner Collage

Special seats for the bride and groom were adorned with draping and floral wreaths. The head table was set with the brides’ wedding china, and napkins embroidered with a custom monogram that would become part of the bride’s collection at home.  Lettered Olive created miniature menu booklets for the guests with details of the meal, wine, and the evening’s events.

Wedding cake Collage cake table

The bride’s mother had collected vintage cake toppers from antique stores throughout the years. She restored and painted the figures by hand to resemble the bride and groom for their wedding day. I love when we can incorporate details from the couple’s family or their traditions.

tent at night

A huge huge storm started to roll in about 15 mins before the couple was set to depart, so we had to move up the last song, move the guests up to the building for the send off to beat the storm.

couple leaving

After the cake cutting, the bride changed into this fabulous frock for dancing… the couple departed as guests waved purple glow sticks- less mess and fuss!

getaway car- greenberg

The car that the couple was set to leave in couldn’t be driven in the rain b/c the seat is actually the trunk folded out, thank goodness we were able to beat the storm and send the couple off into the happy night!

Bouquet

They say everything is bigger in Texas, so when we went to San Antonio for a client we knew we had to go big or go home or so they say. I loved how this bride wanted to combine the girly side of her personality with more masculine details typical of the locale- pinks, sequins, and florals paired with antlers and kraft paper materials.  As much as white bridal bouquets are lovely in their own right, this colorful one made a “big” impact… and I found this vintage ribbon on a scouting trip in NY and was saving it for the perfect pairing.

Printed materials Collage

Lettered Olive created a custom monogram with entwined horns that was used throughout the printed materials… Canvas shoe bags full of local goodies welcomed everyone to Texas…

Wedding party Collage

b&g outside church

The bride wore a custom gown by Texas based designer, Nardos Imam.

Ceremony Collage

Luckily this church was flexible with allowing us to bring in lots of design elements (many aren’t as open to that), so we draped greenery from the pews and covered the harsher red carpet with a more bridal white runner.

drinks on tray

Since we don’t see much of the formal introduction of the wedding party, we had custom coasters made for cocktail hour with the Couples’ announcement on it…

LO Collage

Guests found their seating selections on an antler adorned board covered in a floral fabric we found that the bride fell in love with..

tent awning

I’m loving building awnings over our tent entrances, who wouldn’t waiting to see what’s inside???!!!

dining room overall

Sequined linens draped so nicely over the dining tables.. the room was awash in a glowing light- did you know that pink is one of the most flattering colors on all? The cake was the focal point of the room under a canopy covered in edging by Boutique Tents.

place setting

Embroidered dinner napkins were placed along the head table, giving the bride and groom a nice collection to have in their home after the wedding.

dessert Collage

There was no shortage of sweets at this wedding. From the 5 tiered cake, to the dessert bar with the prettiest array of treats.

servers in aprons

We embroidered aprons for the servers to wear in the lounge, giving the appearance that the guests were truly guests of the couple that evening.

Lounge Collage

Custom cabana tents provided little nooks around the dance floor for guests to take an intimate break and catch up with a friend.

couple dancing

going away car

This floral covered going away car made quite a statement and a lasting impression for guests- Texas style.

Thank you to Liz Banfield for the lovely images.

Wanted to share some of the recent prettiness our sister company Lettered Olive has produced for some of our clients. Our brides love the letterpress designs printed on the thick luxurious Italian paper, and Lettered Olive gets its name from the South Carolina state seashell!

The wedding papers above were for a couple wanting a lot of natural elements incorporated in a sophisticated way. The escort cards for dinner featured different African fabrics as a nod to the couple’s time in the Peace Corps where they met.

For a wedding in Aspen, Colorado, elements of the native landscape were married with a soft feminine palette. Another design juxtaposition and luxury for the guests we were excited about were the leather bound menus stamped with individuals name.

For our glamour bride marrying in Texas, florals, pinks, and sequins were the name of the game.  We found the perfect floral fabric we wanted to incorporate into the wedding decor and Lettered Olive made envelope liners to match it perfectly, along with floral papers to use in other paper designs like the menu cards. I love the look of something like masculine horns paired with a pink ink and monogram, don’t you?

This bride found much of the inspiration for her New Year’s Eve wedding from Carolyne Roehm’s affinity for blue and white. We found blue and white toile plates we knew we were going to use, so our Lettered Olive designers took inspiration from designs you’d see throughout china patterns and popular interior fabrics. The diecut edges were carried throughout the entire wedding design as well.

For a bride that had spent her post college career working in art galleries, a favorite painting provided color and pattern inspiration. A custom monogram (a tradition for all of the brides in her family) was designed to personalize the papers even more.

We love working on finding vintage stamps for the invitations that they work well with, but we also love the idea of designing stamps printed at zazzle.com.
