It’s always so exciting to see a Soirée event featured in one of the many lovely wedding publications.  We had the pleasure of being featured in Bridal Guide’s March/April 2011 issue.  I shared one of my client’s weddings that took place at Martha’s Vineyard.  Our beautiful bride was very passionate about the color palette blue and how perfect, blue symbolizes love and fidelity – the perfect color to start your life together.

Our blue color palette consisted of lighter blues to darker blues and we included the softest shades of lavender as well.  We started off very subtle and brought in more shades of blue throughout the day.  From the beautiful bouquets of  flowers to the calligraphy to the azure lounge area.  It was truly a gorgeous “Something Blue” for our bride’s big day.

And many thanks to Adrienne Page for capturing all the beautiful moments of the day!

It’s Wedding Wednesday at The Bon Bon and today, we’re focusing on your out-of-town guests.  Here at Soirée, we love putting together guest bags and beautiful boxes filled with lots of goodies for our couple’s out-of-town guests.  What better way to welcome them in to town and truly set the scene for what’s about to come.

Some of the items that we love to use are personalized bottles of water, signature cookies, visitor’s booklets, pecans, and golf balls, just to name a few.  The key thing to remember, is to make it personal and to make it fun.  Once your guests get back home, you want to ensure that they never forget the wonderful weekend they spent celebrating your big day!

Here are a few beautiful “goodie” bags and boxes we put together for our client’s wedding guests!

A key factor to consider when having the guest bags monogrammed, instead of using the bride and groom’s names and wedding date, consider the longevity of the bag.  Will your college roommate want to carry around a bag with your initials on it?  Instead, consider using the logo of the reception venue; something subtle enough to encourage your guests to reuse the bag.

Happy Wedding Wednesday Y’all!  I hope you’re having a great week so far and I have a few “Bright Ideas” to inspire you when planning your wedding day.  Beautiful details are key, they are a must when planning your big day.  Make certain you incorporate your personalities and always make the details “your own” and remember, it’s fun to do the unexpected.  Why not add a “pop of color”?  At this wedding, we mixed bright oranges and pinks together.  These color combinations are so cheerful and they will totally be a surprise to your guests.

Let’s start with a lush bouquet of beautiful pink parrot tulips and peonies.

And, of course, we gave the groom a matching boutonniere.

Consider having a birdcage dangle from a tree limb by the front door so that your guests could drop their wishes inside.  We simply gathered notes at the end of the evening and made a traditional guest book for the bride and groom.

Avoid long lines at large weddings and give your guests a chance to write wishes while waiting for the ceremony to start.  We filled little mesh bags with a pen, a card to write wishes on, rose petals to throw at the end of the ceremony, and a miniature wedding program.  We love to be efficient!

Now, we’ve often seen floating floral shapes and candles before, but we wanted a fresh idea to bring the pool into the decor.  We custom made the couple’s monogram out of styrofoam and covered it in hearty pink and orange carnations to bring in the “pop of color”.

This was such a great wedding favor idea that literally flew off the shelves.  The women at the wedding loved having a wrap for a late night stroll by the pool and the flip-flops were an excuse to shed uncomfortable heels.

What “Bright Ideas” will you incorporate into your wedding.  I would love to hear all about it.  Thanks so much to Liz Banfield for capturing all the beautiful images.
