When a bride wants us to to her wedding having attended one of our weddings it’s the biggest compliment. Not only is it a  fun new challenge for us to create a different feel and experience for their big day but also find ways to set theirs apart from the previous one. For this couple, we did the groom’s sister’s wedding in the same venue years before, so here’s how we set out to create their celebration! Thank you to Corbin Gurkin for the lovely images.

Our friends at Charleston Weddings Magazine are celebrating their 10 year anniversary, and we are so thankful to have been featured over the years, and in the anniversary issue. The classic navy and white wedding featured took place at Hibernian Hall and was shot by Corbin Gurkin, Jim Smeal did the textured wedding cake. We’ll share more images on this week’s Wedding Wednesday post.

With wedding cakes today becoming works of art by themselves, we are seeing a decline in brides using cake toppers. Although, we still see something sweet in them, sharing some favorites today…

This vintage cake topper was refashioned for the big day by the Mother of the Bride. She had been collecting them for many years at antique stores and on Ebay. She reworked any of the fabric that was damaged or yellowed, and even collected enough as gifts for the bridesmaids as well!

These adorable hand painted toppers are from Lil Cake Toppers. There are cupcake size options available (think male/female versions for birthdays or showers) and customization for the wedding. She will make ones to look like you and your spouse for the big day- precious!
