Today we wanted to celebrate Mother’s Day a little early. We are so grateful for our clients and often times work as closely with the mother’s involved in the planning as the brides.  Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers of the brides, grooms, stepmoms, surrogate moms, grandmothers, aunts, brides turned new moms, and everyone else who should be celebrated.

Everyone has heard the old adage, April showers bring May flowers (although I’m sure no bride is hoping for those april showers on her big day), so for today’s prettiness, we’re sharing some of our favorite Spring themed floral arrangements. For us, texture is everything and of course we love to design everything based on our client’s personalities, so here is how we do it! photos by Corbin Gurkin

For our bride with a pastel color palette and French influenced design, so many varieties and shades were combined for that picked out of the garden feel- especially with the French lavender. The centerpieces were an extension of the bridal bouquets, and varied from table to table… And of course, atop pale green toile linens.

Of course, spring is also the time of year when some of the sweetest blooms come in different shades- so the option of pastel or punchy is often available.  Fresh fronds from maidenhair and umbrella ferns are delicate fillers (that don’t really seem like fillers).

If you are using a year round hearty flower like orchids or roses, pair them with seasonal blooms like lilacs and in fresh colors for a springtime update.

Of course, sometimes the wedding colors themselves take centerstage, and white flowers are what are needed most.  The way white peonies and tulips open up in our spring time temperatures make them stars even in white. And, pairing them with lush greens brighten them up and offer definition… Happy Spring!

Every now and then, we love a little break from bridal gowns to focus on the footwear and the baubles. Today, is just a pretty post with some of our favorite shoes and accessories for brides.  So, hope you enjoy just a little eye candy for the day.

Here is an alternative view of the sweet Jimmy Choo’s from above… These are incredibly genius, especially for brides being that they are wedges!  Gives some height, but also a bit more forgiveness for dancing throughout the evening.

These Christian Louboutins could not have been more perfect for our glam bride… The sheer lace pattern says bridal but in an ultra sleek way… Loved the bauble shot that accompanied this by Corbin… and notice the groom’s cufflinks with the wedding date!

For our blue and white bride, pearls get an modern update with the chicest Dolce and Gabbana and the kitten heel height is great for keeping a bride on her feet all night.

These wedding day photos of a brides’ accessories could be framed and hung in the house somewhere (closet, powder room)… They are a different take and have a special meaning from the wedding day, and isn’t just another photo of couple.

These Jimmy Choo golden strappy heels are classic for a bride and easily worn with other ensembles without coming off as “bridal” afterewards…
