Bridal portrait

To me, one of the most lovely and important images for your photographer to capture on your wedding day, is a “portrait” or image of you… Lots of brides opt to do a portrait session prior to the wedding, which does help give you a sense of hair and make up, and flowers and how they work with the dress before the big day. But, there is something magical about the images captured by these photographers of our brides on the actual day, almost as if you can really see the emotion of what’s to come. Sharing some of our favorites today…

Wedding party

We’re celebrating Wedding Wednesday with this pastel beauty at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. We had a lot of fun working with these clients, the bride was in PR for a very well known jewelry brand, and the mother was an interior designer so we had a chance to incorporate lots of fun details. Thank you to Adrienne Page for the pretty pics!

Bridal Collage

Along with a monogramed ribbon, the bridal bouquet was adorned with the bride’s grandmother’s vintage broach. I’m obsessed with these Miu Miu shoes our bride wore too! Bride’s dress was by Monique Lhuillier.

Groom Collage

Lavendar blossoms were used as boutonierres and garnishes throughout the wedding. The bride gifted her groom cufflinks from the jeweler she worked for, which the wedding bands came from as well.

Invitations

Lettered Olive designed the lovely wedding papers.  Lace from the bride’s Monique Lhuillier dress inspired the letterpress pattern along with the die cut belly band.

Ceremony overview

Lavendar linen ottoman poufs provided seating for the ceremony overlooking the sea and lawn at the Ocean Course

Ceremony Collage

The floral arch framed the view for guests, while boxes full of lush florals lined the aisle to give the wide expanse more definition.

Cocktail hour Collage

Plaster sheep that usually reside on the lawn at the home of the parents of the bride, were brought over to greet guests coming into the wedding. Cocktail hour took place on the porch so guests could enjoy the views and the ocean breeze before heading inside for dinner.

seating assignments

Playing off of the jewelry theme, escort cards were attached to velvet jewelry boxes with the table numbers cards inside.

Dinner Collage

Special seats for the bride and groom were adorned with draping and floral wreaths. The head table was set with the brides’ wedding china, and napkins embroidered with a custom monogram that would become part of the bride’s collection at home.  Lettered Olive created miniature menu booklets for the guests with details of the meal, wine, and the evening’s events.

Wedding cake Collage cake table

The bride’s mother had collected vintage cake toppers from antique stores throughout the years. She restored and painted the figures by hand to resemble the bride and groom for their wedding day. I love when we can incorporate details from the couple’s family or their traditions.

tent at night

A huge huge storm started to roll in about 15 mins before the couple was set to depart, so we had to move up the last song, move the guests up to the building for the send off to beat the storm.

couple leaving

After the cake cutting, the bride changed into this fabulous frock for dancing… the couple departed as guests waved purple glow sticks- less mess and fuss!

getaway car- greenberg

The car that the couple was set to leave in couldn’t be driven in the rain b/c the seat is actually the trunk folded out, thank goodness we were able to beat the storm and send the couple off into the happy night!

Since Mother’s Day is right around the corner, instead of another gift guide, we just wanted to share some of our favorite “Mom” shots from past events and say Thank you to all of the moms out there. It’s hard to remember that a wedding day is a big day for them as well, as the bride is always the main focus, so today some of these ladies shine too!
