We are back and rested from our days in Palm Beach.  What an amazing event, such a great experience.  I want to share some videos and photos from the conference, which included sessions from Bryan Rafanelli (Chelsea’s event planner), Todd Fiscus of Todd.Events in Dallas, TX, Marcy Blum, Darcy Miller, Sylvia Weinstock, etc.

DVB Photographers, our friends down in Savannah were on hand to snap all of the shots of the week… We love them, thank you for being there!

See it in Action!

Check out these videos from Cloud Nine Creative… I was SO impressed that they were able to shoot the footage and turn it around and show it at the events… they did an amazing job!

The Candids

Thank you so much to Julia from The Lettered Olive for sharing these with me, as my pics are terrible.

Tara on stage doing her thing; Tara on her panel with our BFF’s Todd Fiscus and David Beahm. Both are two of the most wonderful, friendly, open hearted gentlemen; Julia from TLO with Randy Fenoli of “Say Yes to the Dress” and Jennifer from Kelly Kiefer, LLC who is so sweet. Ok, Julia was soooo excited to come because she LOVES Randy, so it was funny to build up to this, but truly he is FABULOUS.  If there is a better word someone please share, but that’s really what he is!

engage-2

The amazing Sylvia- she did a cake decorating demonstration during a luncheon one day and she is just so entertaining and inspiring. She and her husband, Ben, are true role models of success in business, in love, and in life, love them!!! By the way, Sylvia has a book of her cakes out, and I WANT IT!

The “lunch boxes” were too cute, inside was our meal of a lobster roll, deviled eggs, yummy gazpacho, and crudite all in the mini bamboo dishes, total package = adorable!  Elizabeth Cash and I at our lunch.

engage-3

Bryan Rafanelli on stage, who has an amazing presence about him.  Learning about his business and success was truly amazing.. and he is more than easy on the eyes- whew! Tara at lunch with Sylvia Weinstock and Amy Atlas.

Anyone who is contemplating attending this event (Engage!), shouldn’t think twice.  A+ the whole way through! Thank you to all that make it possible…

Tara’s Tidbits

ny-spaces-cover

We were in NY this past week helping Francine Gardner host a party for NY Spaces magazine to celebrate the spread of the home (she designed!) for Syliva Rhone of Motown Records….So much fun! Her upstairs back patio (at her interior design space, Interieurs) was set to honor and glorify Africa. Bright colored fabrics, pillows, lamps and drinks. Perfect weather…love NY in the Fall!

Met world renowned interior desginer Shaler Ladd III…very nice! What an inspirational week!

Photog Blogs

Adrienne Page recently shared her photography blog post with me on some recent sessions she did on her past bride’s children.  Jackie Thompson of Leapfrog PR is a friend and our PR contact here in Charleston, and then little Saracen is the daughter of past bride and groom Christine and Eric Jablon.  How sweet.

Client Referral

homepagewoman-bw

I love when clients turn me onto new products, sites, and ideas that I haven’t seen before.  My MOG from our New York rehearsal dinner turned me onto this bridal jewelry site, Tejani.  She wore several items to her son’s wedding and received nothing but compliments!  They have some ahmmaaazing looking stuff!

We have returned from New York and our rehearsal dinner was a big success- it was a BBQ theme, so of course, they had to bring in the Southerners to throw a real shindig.  I hope to have photos for next week’s post.

In the meantime, here are some fun reads I’d like to share.  From this month’s InStyle:

I loved seeing the “inside files” from Kelly Wearstler- can’t get enough of her darn it, and shouldn’t we be past this by now?

vera-wang

Of course, being in the wedding biz you have to know all things Vera… But, I really appreciated her comment about what she thinks is the biggest change in fashion to date.  I have been watching “Boardwalk Empire” and was just lamenting last night about how beautiful and elegant the ladies were and the men with suits and bowties and boutonierres everyday. I wish we still had the desire to dress up on a daily basis.

Something For the Kiddies…

Check out this story we contributed to on Aisledash.com about children’s attire at weddings.

We’re excited about a new blog launch- Bump Smitten that features tips and stylish real baby showers.  They featured the baby shower for Baby K that we did for our past bride, Lee Kleinhelter.

Tara’s Tidbits

I recently came across this artists’ work as something I would love for my boys’ room.  I wanted to share his story and the piece…

As planners we sometimes have vendors that our clients bring to us versus the other way around… sometimes this can be a good thing or a bad thing.  In the case of our videographers from our Gorham’s Bluff wedding in May, it was a great thing!  Thank you to Epic Motion, whom the bride found through her sister in law and we brought all the way down from Michigan.

I’m thrilled to share the trailer from Beth and Graham’s Wedding.

Tara’s Tidbits

I had a big laugh with my rental guy today over this!  Everyone in the industry should be able to relate to this in one way or another… Enjoy!

Back in the Limelight Again…

Back in the day, this was THE hotspot to go to in the City for dancing, clubbing, whatever it was you were looking for…  it evolved over the years into many different things, lastly a decrepit old rundown church that was once a club, but a church first. (if that even makes sense).  This being right next to our New York office, we were less than pleased at it’s most recent condition.  We were so excited when we saw work being done it early this year, and even more overjoyed when we were there last week.

it is now what they are calling the Limelight Marketplace.  Several companies from Marie Belle chocolates, Brocade Home, Hunter boots, etc. all have little outposts set up. It’s too cute!

An Inside Peek…

Ever popular local interior designer Angie Hranowsky has now opened a space downtown along with photographer, Julia Lynn, and designer Stacey Bradley creater of Perla Anne.  I love seeing someone’s work space, so was psyched when Angie sent over some shots..
