There are so many ways to get creative and design an impact around the ceremony- whether in the seating, maybe a custom aisle runner, florals on the alter or arch, etc.  Even the simplest of details can make a difference. After all, that is what everyone is there to celebrate, there is already a beautiful couple, why not have some beautiful scenery? Today, we’re sharing a round up of some of our favorite aisles from weddings past, that may help inspire your wedding day!

For a ceremony overlooking a bluff into the Harbor in Newport, we built an aisle over the house pool, which we thought made a pretty dramatic look!

Another way we like to liven up a ceremony is with different seating. Here, large linen ottomans provided totally unexpected but still sophisticated seating for this river front wedding.

To dress up and define a beachfront wedding, a white carpeted aisle runner is laid down.

Rustic wooden church pews, and a greenery covered chuppa were so simple and not fussy…and this is a great easy and inexpensive way to have a tailored and elegant ceremony.

In order to keep this aisle blanketed with lush white rose petals pristine for the bride’s entrance, we had ushers seat the guests from the outside in… This is also way easier for guests and fills the rows so you don’t have an empty seat or two in the middle.

Depending on your church’s rules and interiors, going super simple with a single bloom or ribbons may be all you need. Or for a more over the top romantic feel, candlelight lanterns, or boughs of greenery and flowers can transcend a drab sanctuary.

Of course, we’ve all seen the monogrammed aisle runners out there but embellished edges and shepherd’s hooks with matching ribbon swaying in the breeze, definitely helped elevate this ceremony’s look.

Winter weddings have a special place in our hearts. There is a sense of wonderment in the air, and when the wedding is set in a venue as stunning as the Ford Planation in Savannah, Georgia, it feels almost magical. This special bride and groom opted for a chic blue and white toile as the pattern du jour, which we worked into everything from the invitations to the umbrellas, table linens, and even tray liners. Winter white peonies and ranunculus were mixed with festive greens for centerpieces and bouquets which set a romantic mood and the cake was topped with rich, winter fruit to finish it off. The menu consisted of some of our favorite Southern delicacies with a twist, such as Quail and Grits (alongside Shrimp and Grits), Ford Eggs Benedict, as well as okra and pickled vegetables. Guests sat on the lawn of the plantation down a long table topped with umbrellas in the signature pattern for shade.

Set under live oak trees, the ceremony couldn’t have been more beautiful, and we were thrilled to celebrate such a special day with this extraordinary couple. As they said their goodbyes, guests tossed white rose petals out of paper cones made from the blue and white toile pattern while the couple drove off in a classic black vintage car. This winter wedding couldn’t have been more perfect!

Considering today is the first day of fall, and since we always create custom bouquets for our Soirée brides, we thought it would be fun to share a few of our favorite flowers for the season. Now you can get most flowers anytime of year with greenhouses and Fedex, but obviously some of the lushest blooms can be found when they’re growing at their peak.

dahlias cafe au lait

Dahlias are at the end of their growing season (June through October), but we wanted to take a minute to highlight the beautiful “Cafe au Lait Dahlia” that is fast becoming one of the most popular flowers for brides. The lush blossoms can grow to be as big as a dinner plate giving them the nickname “Dinnerplate Dahlias,” and many brides are finding them a more affordable alternative to peonies.

dark red peonies

Speaking of peonies, you can’t beat the burgundy peonies (sometimes called “Buckeye Belle” peonies) that start to become available in the fall. Their rich red color is perfect for autumn arrangements. (image source)

camellia branches

And lastly, the camellia branches that you find in the fall are perfect for filling in arrangements or bouquets. We also love the idea of using unripe figs on the branches (also available this time of year) as additional greenery.
