We always talk and share flowers for the brides, bridesmaids, and ceremonies, but sometimes the boys’ boutonnieres can seem secondary. So, today, we want to give some love to the boys and the flowers that grace their lapels on the wedding day.  Of course you have to think about them holding up and looking fresh, but we always make a few extras to have as backup if all of the hugs crush them a little bit. Above, sweet white tulips are nestled with fresh fern fronds and hearty lambs ear.

Sometimes all the gentlemen wear the same flower, and sometimes we like to create something a little different for the groom and the best man, etc.  I loved how these roses opened up and looked like a formal companion next to the light and airy Astrantia.

For this summertime beachside wedding, young buds of helioboris orchids made unexpectedly sweet bouts that would definitely hold up in the weather conditions.

Of course, presentation is everything to us, even for the guys.  We often have our calligrapher make personal tags for so we can make sure everyone is covered and of course it looks so nice in pics.

And, we love when clients aren’t afraid of color, bouts don’t always have to be white. At a Martha’s Vineyard wedding, wild local purple anenoemes couldn’t be overlooked. For a wedding with all shades of pink, the sweetest pink sweet peas made picture bouts… We think our grooms look pretty in pink!

And we also love when we can use unusual or alternative blooms, seed blossoms, greenery, etc. They can make an unexpectedly fun detail.

soiree-groomsmen

Earlier this week we shared some of our favorite gifts for your bridesmaids, but your groomsmen deserve some love too! Men are famously hard to shop for, so we’ve scoured the market find something for everyone from the dapper gentleman to tech guru in our roundup below. And of course as all of your groomsmen have their own style, think of the suggestions below as shopping categories… such as a fashion accessory for your stylish friend, or a great bluetooth speaker for your best man that loves music. And just as we mentioned for your bridesmaids, combining these would create one stellar gift package for the groomsmen that go above and beyond! Photo above by Liz Banfield

soiree-bow-ties

The bow tie originally came about in the 17th century in the form of a scarf used to keep a shirt closed at the collar, and they have been popular in the South for as long as we can remember. As seen in the photo by Liz Banfield from a Soirée wedding, they can go quite formal, or with some of the options below can be worn for a more relaxed event. If you’re looking for groomsmen ideas, we’ve gathered some of our favorites that would work well for a range of dress codes and color palettes below. Be sure to leave a comment to let us know your favorite!
