Tara Guerard Soiree by Perry Vaile We are so excited to share images from this stunning soiree shot by Perry Vaile photography. And, thank you to the Over The Moon Blog for their recent feature.  We loved loved loved working with this amazing and fun couple on their wedding last year at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, SC.  The laid back vibe of the couple was translated into a elegant but chill affair for their friends and family.

The welcome gift by Palmetto Bluff and Soiree included homemade biscuits, butter, and jam, and homemade granola! A perfect little breakfast in bed for the guest cottages.

We found this amazing marble paper that the bride loved as well, so we had fun finding different ways incorporating it throughout the wedding- kind of like a treasure hunt. Here, they line the pages of the ceremony programs by Lettered Olive.

How amazing is this mother of the bride in her Kate McDonald dress? Stunning!

The Chapel on site at Palmetto Bluff is a sweet site on it’s own, but we added a lovely photo backdrop for the vows by mimicking the arch of the window with greenery and simple flowers.

Local gospel accapella group, the Plantation Singers provided music for cocktail hour  on the lawn overlooking the May River.

You know how we love to design bars using different fabrics, or materials to make for a interesting installation. Thick lemon leaf creates a natural feel but statement piece for guests.

Dinner was held under a sail cloth tent with a mixture of long and square tables.

One of my favorite design elements to the dinner tables were the clipboards containing the vellum calligraphied menus and place cards backed with the marbled paper.

We wrapped glass candle cylinders with the marbled paper and had our calligrapher paint on the table numbers in metallic gold.

A sweet little detail for the couple of the evening!

Guests moved into the ballroom after dinner for a full on dance party.

We created sweet little seating spots on the porch outside the ballroom for those guests that wanted a quiet retreat from the action inside.

After a quick change into a shorty jumpsuit, the couple departed by sparkler send off on a tandem bicycle back to their cottage!  Congratulations Caroline and Wyatt!

Tara Guerard Soiree by Corbin Gurkin

These two New Yorkers, engaged in Italy, searched and searched for the perfect elegant but intimate wedding venue. But after no luck in the Northeast, after a visit to Palmetto Bluff, Lindsay and Josh knew they had found the location. More details from their weekend can also be seen on Martha Weddings! All the beautiful imagery compliments of Corbin Gurkin.

With fewer guests, but a bride wanting to have her walk down the aisle, we split the seating with fewer chairs in the rows so that we could have a longer aisle for her. A simple chuppa supported by planted trees was lovely and blended into the landscape so that the ceremony could be more of the focal point.

Homemade biscuits and jam by Palmetto Bluff (packaged by us and Lettered Olive) were delivered to guests on the day of the wedding. A “warm welcome” and Southern treat for those traveling so far.

The brides’ simple bouquet of Lily of the Valley, looks sweet any season of the year.

The perfect kickoff to the celebration after the ceremony, a champagne tower greets guests as they entered cocktail hour.

A tented dinner on the lawn overlooking the ruins offered a warm way for guests to still enjoy their Lowcountry setting.

We wanted the tabletop to feel as if you were having dinner at the home of the couple. Lamps mixed with candlelight styled with pots and vessels full of varying blooms offered a sophisticated and lush spread.

Sprigs of fresh rosemary adorned the hand caligraphied menus.

A grand piano was a surprising focal point at dinner but the live piano background music was just perfect!

I love using easy and readily available materials to create and divide spaces. Here, firewood chopped by our Soiree firemen made a super luxurious and interesting backdrop to our burlap and greenery draped bar.

Tara Guerard Soiree by Corbin Gurkin

Having a sailcloth tent while lovely on its own, prevents the draping style we are so fond of. So, for the fall feel the swags of garland greenery helped bring the outside in…

Tara Guerard Soiree by Corbin Gurkin

I loved the garland ‘chandelier’ we built for over the dance floor. We added blooms to soften it and make it stand out for that wedding feel. One other Soiree signature is our band stage covering. Not only does it hide all of the wires, and equipment that can be messy and distracting, but it offers one more area for decor or design elements.

The couple wed under a chuppa covered in magnolia greenery and a family talit, overlooking the banks of the Ashley River as friends and family looked on.

Family artifacts that have been present at so many other weddings before were an important piece of the getting ready process for this bride.  Her something new was an embroidered handkerchief with her married monogram.

The something blue was an embroidered area inside the wedding dress with the names and date, love this!!!

The couple chose to do a “first sight” moment before walking down the aisle to calm their nerves. Such sweet emotion was captured by photographer, Squire Fox  in that moment.

A note that was given to the bride from her groom with a gift on the wedding day. This is such a lovely sentiment.

The lush all white bouquet consisting of garden roses, ranunculus, anenomes, and tea roses… So lush and smelled divine, perfect for the white, gray, and navy blue wedding color scheme.

Adorable flower girl and ring bearer ready and waiting to perform their important duties!

To keep in line with the fall season, we created a “seating tree” where we hung escort cards for dinner amongst the branches. Even though they were mostly in alphabetical order, we always have a “Soirette” here to assist guests in finding their card.

Tara Guerard Soiree by Squire Fox

Calligraphied escort cards in the same die cut shape that was used on the custom monogram throughout the entire wedding printing.

To keep in line with the kosher observances of many of the family and guests, brand new platinum lined plates and stemware atop lush grey suede linens laid the landscape for the dinner tables. The fall centerpieces are anchored by grey candles from Creative Candles.

Jim Smeal mimicked the monogram and pattern detail from the wedding invitation to give some textured to this all white wedding cake.

Dessert tables were set throughout the reception lounge after dinner, so that guests could easily grab a quick treat while on the dance floor.

Favors were grits from a local Charleston area mill.
