Well, we just think this bright pink Hamptons beachside affair couldn’t be more perfect to share on Valentine’s Day. We’re thrilled that this Hamptons wedding was also recently featured on Brides.  We hope you enjoy the details as much as we enjoyed working on this one… All of the photos by Liz Banfield.

The bride knew that the whimsical designs of graphic artist, Happy Menocal would be a must for her big day… They selected a broad color palette that set the design tone for the affair.

The bride went with a tulle and crystal covered Monique Lhuillier gown. The veil was also embellished with crystals, for the formal ceremony, but a down-do and fresh flowers took over at the reception.  We made a wild but sophisticated bouquet of phalenopsis orchids, wild peonies, and trailing greenery perfectly fit for a bride. The Groom’s blue Ermenegildo Zegna Made to Measure suite was perfect for the coastal climate and color palette.

Working with the array featured on the printed materials’ color palette, the bridesmaids all wore mixmatched dresses… Our bouquets were crafted from a variety of local wildflowers and seasonal blooms. The bride, who is an architect herself, chose the Church of the Atonement for her ceremony, which was build in the 1880’s by a well known NYC firm.  She is a long time fan of the classic shingled style of buildings seen in the Hamptons, so it was a natural fit. With the dark grey, the vivid fuschia orchids seemed to feel very celebratory for the big day.

The couple love food and wine having traveled extensively and living overseas, so the food and wine aspect was very important to them. We worked with Chef Peter Ambrose in the Hamptons to create a delicious menu that also looked lovely as well.  Servers greeted guests with coupes of champagne dotted with pink orchids, mini lobster rolls, grilled seafood, and we designed large standing cocktail tables for an abundant charcuterie display… all accented with our custom garden parasols.

A potted urn of phalenopsis orchids in varying shades of pink made the perfect centerpiece for the grassy topped escort card display.

Homemade jam favors by Briermere Farms received custom packaging for guests’ take home.

The tabletops were simple and organic… The lighter shades set the tone, allowing for the menus (Happy Menocal), escort tags and hand painted table numbers, and the food to be the pops of color throughout.

After dinner, guests moved into the lounge tent for dessert and dancing, bars were covered in custom fabric and orchid arrangements throughout provided whimsical pops of the mixed color palette.

An artful dessert display of locally made pies accompanied the traditional white wedding cake made by Sugar Sugar. For a topper, a simple spray of pink orchids was an artful touch.

Guests danced and partied well into the evening in the cozy tent, enjoying tunes from the Kevin Osbourne Band.

Before departing as husband and wife in a Classic Rolls Royce, guests sent them off properly with glowing sparklers…

Last week while in the City, we visited the Studio Four NYC showroom.  So excited about everything I saw there, and love the fact that they can produce custom fabric, rugs, and wallpapers.  Our friend, Angie Hranowsky recently debuted her wallpaper collaboration. Here are some of my favorite “finds” available through Studio Four NYC.

When we’re in the city, we’re usually running from meeting to meeting, or photo shoots, sourcing stuff for upcoming events, etc but I really try to squeeze in time to check out a new restaurant.

This time I hit ABC Cocina– the Jean Georges spot inside ABC Carpet & Home. I helped work on Jean Georges’ wedding years ago, so I’m a big fan!

My highlights from the menu were:

The raw shaved brussels sprouts salad, with vermont shepherd cheese and marcona almonds (I’ve always loved brussels sprouts, and these were divine!!). Also, the charred octopus with smoked paprika creme fraiche and guajillo vinaigrette, and the maitake mushrooms with goat cheese, fresno pepper vinaigrette.

Next time you are in the City, you must check it out!
