I’ve always said I love a seated dinner reception. It not only is the best experience for your guests being able to sit and enjoy a fabulous meal served to you while socializing with old or new friends; but, it also allows us to showcase lovely attention to detail. Here are some of our favorite place settings.

One of our favorite things about planning weddings on the scale that we do is that we really get to develop meaningful relationships with our brides for many years to come. In fact some of them even ask Lettered Olive to create baby announcements for them when they welcome new additions to their family, as was the case with little “Tripp” in the photo above. We’re sharing a peek at the beautiful wedding we created for the Roys a few years ago (photos by Liz Banfield), and were thrilled to join them in celebrating this special time!

How cute are Tripp’s parents?! Such a lovely couple… this expression is what it’s all about! We’re sharing a few more details from this memorable wedding below. Enjoy!

We think it’s only right to take style cues from Audrey Hepburn, who at her second wedding in 1969 opted for a mini dress with long sleeves for a simple modern look. Soirée brides are known for changing into shorter dresses for their receptions, allowing them to dance the night away and we think you should too! Check out some of our favorite options below (image source):

This sophisticated number by Vionnet could actually be worn as a wedding dress at a more relaxed affair. It’s on final sale so if you love it you better grab it now! Vionnet Sleeveless Dress, $657 at Shopbop.

For a more festive ensemble, we love this Marchesa “Peony” Dress! The three dimensional floral appliqués are made of silk-tulle and silk-organza. Marchesa Peony appliquéd silk-satin mini dress, $3,500 at Net-a-Porter.

Channel your inner Grecian goddess with a swinging V-neck dress trimmed in lace and an empire waist that will highlight your flattering figure. Valley Dress, $800 at BHLDN.

This Lanvin dress is all business in the front, party in the back. The dramatic bow will be a fun statement for your wedding photos and the all-over rosette pattern softens the look. Lanvin Rosette-effect cotton and silk-blend dress, $5,105 at Net-a-Porter.

You can’t go wrong with lace, and this subdued dress in a classic silhouette by Dolce & Gabbana will set the tone for a sophisticated reception. Dolce & Gabbana Lace Dress, $3,095 at MyTheresa.
