I wanted to share a great resource that I had the pleasure of being included in recently… The Dallas Wedding Collective  is a guide to event and entertaining pros fostering creative working relationships in the Dallas area. Our long time friend Anne Chertoff is a contributor to the Collective, and when they wanted to feature a story on how couples’ home and decorating style translates into their wedding design, she came to us!

We like to visit a client’s home (when possible) to get a sense of their style- is there a color or pattern used throughout? Are they traditional or modern? Reception layouts tend to follow the footprint of a home as well- the entrance acts as the foyer, then into the dining room where dining tables are set and decorated sometimes as they may be for a dinner party, and finally leads into a lounge area- which could be similar to a cozy den where you unwind after dinner.  We have even worked with some clients after their weddings on designing their homes.

Here are images from weddings where a couples’ interior design style influenced their wedding decor.

The mother of the Bride has collected these plaster sheep and has them displayed on the lawn at their home.. She brought them to the venue site so that they could greet guests as they arrived.

When the bride was married at her childhood home, we loved the classic black and white awning stripe upholstery on their outdoor furniture so we took that same look onto the cocktail hour bar .

The brides wedding china was used for the place settings at the head table…

As mentioned in the Collective piece, this groom played the piano at home- so we brought in a piano for a “grand” entrance.

This bride collects elephants in all elements of decor in her home (they mean to bring good luck), so it was a must that we incorporate them into the decor.. we found these ceramic side tables, but fashioned them as cake stands instead. We gifted these to the couple afterwards.

We had so much fun at New York Bridal Week earlier this month and were thrilled to partner with Charleston Weddings magazine on a fabulous event at Ramscale Studio in the West Village. We hosted all of our industry friends to celebrate the amazing fashion coming down the runways at Pier 94, but the most exciting fashion moment was joining in the launch of Lula Kate designer Katherine McDonald’s signature line of wedding dresses. I also loved seeing two former Soirée brides that live in the city and stopped by to catch up. Aren’t they so cute in the photo above?! We’re happy to share some photos of the event with you today, and must thank Melissa Bigner of Charleston Weddings, Ramscale Studio for hosting us, and of course Lucy Cuneo for these stunning images!

Let’s start with the dresses shall we? Seriously stunning! Katherine showcased them throughout the venue for an absolutely beautiful display.

Loving the new issue of Charleston Weddings magazine that features one of our Soirée brides Kelly Broad. Make sure to grab a copy, and see a sneak peek here. And how amazing is the view from Ramscale?!

We made sure ever guest had a gift bag (a Soirée signature) and loved these with a map of Charleston on the front to represent all of our Charleston friends in town for the event. We also had copies of our Weddings book there for guests to take home.

Everyone loved the cocktails made with mixers from Charleston-based Bittermilk… with packing that beautiful, who could resist?! All of these elements made for a stunning event, and we loved spending the evening with some of our favorite people. We’re already counting down until next year!

Soiree Wedding -1

We were so excited to see the latest issue of Charleston Weddings magazine this week, since it featured our beautiful Soirée bride Kelly Broad and her husband James Affinito. We worked with them on their wedding almost one year ago today (happy anniversary y’all!) at The First Baptist Church here in Charleston, and with a beautiful reception at Runnymede Plantation. We’re sharing a sneak peek of the story here, but make sure to pick up the Fall/ Winter issue of Charleston Weddings magazine to see the rest of the photos (all by Corbin Gurkin)!

Now, this is the way to kick off a wedding, don’t you think? Every girl should celebrate with a glass of champagne before walking down the aisle, and we loved that the bridesmaids joined in. Savor this special moment!

The reception tent entrances were custom made using a smart striped fabric, and finished with seagrass runners and a row of boxwoods.

We love calligrapher Elizabeth Porcher Jones, and think she did a fabulous job with our place cards, don’t you? The tabletop came together nicely with classic blue and white china and silver and gold flatware.

We do all of our own flowers here at Soirée, and we loved the finished look of this floral table runner! The deep turquoise trim on the tablecloth gives it a nice contrast so you really see the drama where it hits the floor.

A cheese tasting was set up at the reception atop a beautiful slab of marble and served with fruits and honey.

Happy anniversary to Kelly and James… wishing you all the best! Thank you for letting us share in such a special day.
