You’ve got a house full of family (or friends) and have to focus on the big meal later in the day… Well, here are a few ideas that hopefully you can use to serve a fun and easy breakfast and maintain your status as the hostess with the mostest. First of all, the big  Thanksgiving meal coming up tends to be more formal, so feel free to let the a.m be more casual, even self serve.  Set it and forget it.  If weather in your area permits, this could even be outside or on a porch allowing for the dining area to stay prepped for later.

Here, I went with a Bloody Mary and Biscuit theme. So, sett out your favorite mixers and garnishes and let guests build their own bloody marys. Other snacky type items, fruit, veggies, (I even like Bacon in my bloodys) here can also double as a buffet- make your drink and plate in one place.  This can certainly be a light meal in anticipation of stuffing face later.

A great item that we like to have in the freezer to pull out are biscuits, and some of our favorite are Callie’s Charleston Biscuits… You can see more of us making biscuits in the kitchen with Carey Morrie here. A great item to include on the buffet, and works with everything.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We loved having Lela Rose in town for Charleston Wedding Week. I’m a big fan of her designs, and she’s a fellow Southerner! In order to celebrate the release of her new book- Pret-A-Party we decided to throw a Biscuits, Bloodys, and Book Signing party in her honor. Love having Friday a.m. parties now, going to make it my new thing!

Perfect for a ladies’ brunch, little Callie’s Biscuits in a variety of flavors- ham, jam, and cinnamon.

We set up a Do-It-Yourself Bloody Mary bar with every addition you could think of- peppers, pickled okra, shrimp skewers, even bacon slices. For those needing to go back to work we had a juice bar with fruit and veg garnishes as well. Just putting in simple containers with nice signage makes for a lovely focal point.

Of course, it’s not a party without the pups- Georgia girl was there, and our new Soiree pup, Ruthie… She was a big hit with Lela!

LIAP EP 2 Screen Shot Tray of Bloodies #6 (1) (3)

To serve the perfect cocktail, I think small details like a linen cocktail napkin (I like ones embroidered with something custom to you), perhaps a printed stirrer (available on Foryourparty.com), and served on a pretty tray make your game look strong- even if the drinks aren’t.   Enjoy our little tidbit below on tips for serving… And see the full length video on our YouTube channel.
